4th November 2005 - The Finance Brokers Association of Australia is sorry to announce the resignation of Queensland State President, Mr A. Martial Peter, in advance of the upcoming State Annual General Meeting.
9th September 2005 - At the recent National Board meeting Mr John Mulcair was confirmed as the inaugural State/Territory President of the A.C.T Branch of the FBAA.
9th September 2005 - Mr Lance Cure Vice-President of the Tasmanian Branch of the FBAA has assumed the role of State President of the Association with the resignation today of Mr. Dale Archer.
22nd June 2005 - We have today received that confirmation & were advised by ASIC that they are concerned that the FBAA Brochure may contain a number of statements that could be, or may potentially be considered false or misleading.
27th April 2005 - On the 4/4/2005 Senior representatives from the FBAA Executive Council met with Minister Kobelke in order to advise him that we intend to REJECT THE DRAFT OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT in It?s ENTIRETY in particular Items 5 through to 8.
21st March 2005 - A draft copy of the WA Code of Conduct has been prepared by the FBSB and which affects the whole of the industry.
16th February 2005 - The Discussion Paper on National Finance Broking Regulation is sectional in its premise. The proposed legislative model has addressed that area which has appeared to have caused significant concerns in the past, and has a totally unbalanced consumer bias.
21st December 2004 - The Finance Brokers Association of Australia is concerned about the flow-on effect following some lenders moves to reduce their mortgage broking commissions.
2nd December 2004 - A spokesman for the FBAA welcomed the release today of the finance and mortgage broking discussion paper on the proposed uniform regulation of Finance Brokers. The FBAA has been seeking for uniform national legislation for many years.
5th July 2004 - THE Finance Brokers Association of Australia has no intention of backing acceptance on a national basis of the NSW legislation that is prescribed in the Consumer Credit Administration Act (NSW) and is due to be rolled out on August 1 in NSW (only).
