Peter White elected FBAA national president Peter White has been elected National President of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) at its Annual General Meeting today.

Peter, who held the position of Senior Vice President, takes over from outgoing National President Jan Kirstein, who didn’t stand for re-election after two years in the role.

“The FBAA has grown from strength to strength and I take the role of National President at an exciting time for the Association,” Peter said.

“Our membership continues to grow rapidly and is up 36% over the past year. With this growing support we will continue to be active in advocating the broking profession to all stakeholders, from advising government on regulatory issues to building the profile of brokers within the community.

“On behalf of the National Executive and all FBAA members, I would like to thank Jan Kirstein for his outstanding efforts over the past two years. He has thoroughly dedicated himself to the role of National President and he is leaving the FBAA in a very strong position.”

Jan Kirstein, said: “The Association has come of age in recent years and I know I’m leaving it in very capable hands with Peter and the Executive team,” Jan said.

“The industry will continue to face challenges, particularly in the absence of effective legislation, but the Association has never been better placed to take-up these challenges on behalf of the broking industry.

“Throughout my time with the FBAA, one constant that has never failed to impress me is the passion those involved with the Association hold for the broking industry. All are, or have been, practicing brokers and give their time voluntarily because they ardently believe in the profession. I thank everyone involved with the FBAA for their support and dedication.”

Ron Guthrie has been elected National Senior Vice President and Mick Conyngham will take the position of Junior Vice President. John Mulcair and Stan Millar continue in the roles of National Treasurer and National Secretary, respectively.

To recognise their service to the Association and the broking industry, Keith Stringer has been made a Life Member and Jeff Mazzini and Ian Morris have been made Fellows of the Association.
