FBAA Announces Record Growth And Another Membership Fee Freeze

19th July 2021

What a time we’ve had over the past 18 months! We went from talking about how the industry would cope from the economic downturn due to COVID, to keeping up with business following the recent increase in property sales and loans.

Through this time the FBAA has been there for you and all of our members, and we’ve prioritised business success, personal health, and ongoing training and development. We really do take seriously our mantra of “by brokers, for brokers” and are passionate about helping every member prosper.

This is why more brokers are joining the FBAA. I am excited to announce that at the end of the 2021 financial year our membership has increased by 10.8 per cent over the same time as the previous year. This means we had 9034 members as of June 30.

And importantly, around 90 per cent of members are customer-facing finance brokers. This means that the FBAA truly represents the largest group of finance brokers in Australia.

One of the main comments we hear from members is that the FBAA is on track when it comes to not only talking about the issues you care about and that directly affect you, but that actions and results follow. In other words, our public dialogue is not only relevant but we strive for real outcomes.

When we deal with stakeholders, whether these be regulators, MPs, the media, and those within our industry, the conversation is not about us but about the issues that matter and about building the industry as a whole.

But there’s more good news. Before the pandemic, we had announced we wouldn’t be increasing our membership fees, and at the start of COVID, we again said there’d be no increase.

We’ve decided for the third year in a row to once again freeze our membership fees. It’s been an uncertain last few years and we want to make this small move to bring some certainty to your membership.

As the FBAA grows, our aim is not to build an organisation, but to build people. Our members can be assured that as the voice of the broking industry, we are your voice, allowing you to do what you do best - delivering the best outcomes for your clients.

This quote, attributed to the renowned author and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar, could have been said for the FBAA, our industry, and you today – “Always remember that your present situation is not your final destination. The best is yet to come”.
