The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) says they are in shock today following the passing of former cricket star Max Walker, calling him “a huge supporter of our industry”.

The FBAA’s Peter White said Max had partnered with the association for many years and attended their annual conference each year either as MC or a guest.

“He was not only a good friend, but was remarkable in the way he related to people, and would never refuse a photo with the numerous fans that approached him during conference.

“As MC he had endless stories about his cricket days and always kept the crowd entertained.”

However Mr White said he took his support of the industry seriously.

“Max was behind the broking sector and was more than a paid MC. We will miss him greatly.”

The FBAA will pay tribute to Max at this year’s conference.
